April 2024
Dear Daughters,
I am so excited to invite you to our online Spring Assembly, set for Saturday, May 4. Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting with the Revs. Victoria Hatch and Pat McCaughan to go over the day’s agenda. What a program we have planned!
The theme for the day is “Listening for God’s Call.” After a special Morning Prayer liturgy prepared by our Diocesan Chaplain, Rev. Linda Wirt, we will enjoy listening to a conversation between the Revs. Victoria and Pat in which they will both share their own stories of hearing and responding to God’s call. They will also suggest ways that we, too, as Daughters of the King, can discern and follow God’s call to us. There will be time for breakout room discussion and questions. You will be inspired, I’m certain!
This program grew out of the screening of the documentary film about the Philadelphia 11 that was offered at St. George’s, Laguna Hills, last month. As you may know, one of those courageous eleven women was none other than the sister of our own Rev. Victoria Hatch, who was a witness to the very events presented in the film. Several of our Los Angeles Daughters who attended that screening were deeply moved by what they watched and heard at the panel discussion that followed, so they urged us to invite Rev. Victoria to be our speaker for Spring Assembly. We’re thrilled that she said YES! And Rev. Pat will be the perfect conversation partner.
Please click the button above and register today for the assembly. I hope to see many of you online!
