Dear Sisters in Christ,
I pray you are well in these Ordinary Times and have been able to find peace and rest as we approach a very busy season on the horizon.
Board Meetings
Our executive board will continue to meet on a monthly basis, but it has been decided that the full board (executive board plus chapter presidents or representatives and committee chairman) will meet only quarterly. Our next full board meeting will be on August 31st. We will send reminders and place on our website calendar as to when the other meetings will take place. These meetings will provide deeper discussions in leadership and spiritual growth that can be shared with your chapters.
Leadership Retreat
Speaking of our full board, we will be having a Leadership Retreat on Saturday, September 12th, 9am-1pm, at St. Andrews, 1231 E. Chapman Ave, Fullerton, CA 92831. We’ll be sharing and discussing ideas about how chapter and diocesan leaders can better serve our chapters. Chapter Manuals will be available for those who don’t already have them. Please be sure your chapter is represented.
Fall Assembly
Our Fall Assembly will be held on October 24th at St. Paul’s Commons at Echo Park from 9am to 2pm. We will have a guest speaker (Christine, please add info about her here). A light breakfast and lunch will be served.
Diocesan Book Club
We continue to host, via Zoom, a Book Club on the second Sunday of the month. We are currently discussing “How We Learn to be Brave” by Bp. Mariann Budde. You can join at any time.
Welcome Our New Bishop
One of the special events we were all able to experience this summer was the Consecration and Ordination of our new Bishop, The Rev. Dr. Antonio Jose Gallardo Lucena, this past July 11th. The new bishop is familiar with The Order and we look forward to working with him in our continued work we are called to do.
